07 Jun Nathan Hochman Launches New Website – GasconMustGo.com – Highlighting the Reasons Why L.A. County Needs a New District Attorney
LOS ANGELES / June 7, 2024 – Nathan Hochman, who is running to defeat George Gascon in the November election for Los Angeles County District Attorney, today announced the launch of a new website – GasconMustGo.com – to highlight how Gascon’s extreme political agenda has harmed public safety and the quality of life in L.A. County.
The website will illustrate how Gascon’s policy decisions have led to an increase in crime as told through the real-life stories of crime victims who have been abandoned as Gascon prioritizes criminals over victims. These stories include: the murders of two El Monte police officers by a career criminal set free because of a lenient Gascon policy; a sheriff’s deputy shot in the back by a convicted killer released because of a lenient Gascon policy; and sadly, many similar stories.
New victims’ stories and Gascon failings will be added to the website regularly.
The website will draw attention to Gascon’s ethical lapses, including promoting to No. 3 in command a woman named Diana Teran, who now faces 11 felony charges filed by the California attorney general for misusing confidential records of sheriff’s deputies while on the job. There’s also a story about the time that Gascon insulted the family of a murder victim outside the Pomona courthouse. “Some people do not have enough education to keep their mouth shut,” Gascon told the grieving family.
Gascon and Hochman are polar opposites. While Hochman has 34 years of criminal justice experience and has prosecuted and defended more than 300 cases, Gascon has never personally prosecuted or defended a case in his life. While Hochman will stand up for crime victims and public safety, Gascon is focused on protecting criminals, reducing sentences and refusing to prosecute cases – at the expense of public safety.
Hochman, a former federal prosecutor, U.S. Assistant Attorney General, President of the City of Los Angeles Ethics Commission and criminal defense attorney, finished a strong second in the March primary, qualifying for the November runoff. Gascon received 25% of the vote, the lowest percentage that any incumbent district attorney has received in Los Angeles County history.
