L.A. City Councilmember Traci Park Endorses Nathan Hochman for District Attorney: Los Angeles County “Is Going to be Lucky to Have You”

LOS ANGELES / October 14, 2024 – Frustrated by an increase in crime throughout her district, Los Angeles City Councilmember Traci Park is supporting former federal prosecutor and U.S. Assistant Attorney General Nathan Hochman for Los Angeles County District Attorney.

“Here on the Westside, we are sick and tired of the home burglaries, the smash-and-grabs, the car smash-ins, drug dealers slinging meth and fentanyl in our local parks without fear of consequence. We are ready for a District attorney who is serious about cleaning up the streets and holding criminals accountable,” Ms. Park, who represents Council District 11, said in an endorsement video posted on Instagram. “Nathan, you are overqualified for the job, and Los Angeles is going to be lucky to have you.”

The councilwoman joins more than 600 elected leaders, labor groups, law enforcement agencies, business organizations and local prosecutors who are supporting Mr. Hochman’s campaign to defeat D.A. George Gascon in the November 5 election. Violent crime and property crime have increased every year that George Gascon has been in office, according to statistics compiled by the California Department of Justice.

Mr. Hochman said: “We are very fortunate to have Traci Park representing us on the City Council, and advocating for public safety. I truly appreciate her support and look forward to working together to make Los Angeles safer by implementing sensible prosecution policies and restoring balance in the criminal justice system.”

A full list of Mr. Hochman’s endorsements is available on his website.

Recent polling confirms that Los Angeles County voters are fed up with Gascon’s pro-criminal policies, with Hochman holding a 30-point lead over Gascon. Ballots began arriving by mail last week. They must be mailed or deposited at a ballot drop box by Nov. 5.
