Subject: Gov. Newsom: Please deny parole for murderer Derek Eugene Pettis
“Gov. Newsom, please deny parole for Derek Eugene Pettis (CDCR No. K06969), who murdered Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Chaplain Bruce Bryan and attempted the murder of Sheriff’s Deputy Terrence Wenger. Anyone who murders clergy and attempts to murder a peace officer is a danger to society and should not be returned to the streets.  It would be a miscarriage of justice to release Pettis before he has served his full sentence.”
