District Attorney George Gascon did not initially charge the suspects as gang members. That is lazy. That is inserting your political agenda over the facts and the law. Gascon refuses to file any gang enhancements.
What Gascon has done is emboldened criminals. On his first day, his first hour, his first email.
Hate crimes are up double digits. Violent crime has been up every single year. Property crimes, they are up double digits. Shoplifting is up 133%. Fear is way up.
Recent polling shows 60% of Angelenos feel safety has declined under DA George Gascon, and 53% say his own policies contributed. It’s the sentiment that’s led to two recall attempts and more than a dozen lawsuits from his own deputy attorneys and their union. District Attorneys voted 98% for their boss’s recall. That’s a shocking statistic.
Enough is Enough. It’s time to join together and reject the extreme agenda and incompetence of George Gascon. As District Attorney, I will restore independence and integrity, actually prosecute criminals and provide care for the homeless.
