DDA Speak Out – Julianne Walker

DDA Speak Out – Julianne Walker

Julianne Walker is a L.A. County Deputy D.A. for over 36 years, who wants Nathan Hochman to replace our current failed L.A. County District Attorney George Gascon. Julianne reveals, “On D.A. Gascon’s first day in office, I was forced to tell the family of a murdered college student that I had been ordered NOT to attend a Parole Hearing the next day for their child’s murderer. They were devastated as are many other families affected by Gascon’s failed policies.”

Can you imagine what it is like for crime victims and their families knowing their county’s prosecutors (that they help pay for with their tax dollars) are forced to abandon them? Gascon despicably forbids prosecutors from attending Parole Hearings with victims. Leaving victims to be traumatized and victimized again, by forcing them to face ALONE the killers and child molesters of their family members – and their own rapists and kidnappers.

George Gascon does not allow prosecutors to share prisoners’ criminal case files and crime details with the Parole Board! Making it more likely the criminals will be set free into our communities again. Gascon and his failed policies ignore victims and their families. They instead offer violent criminals light sentences. He has numerous pro-criminal blanket policies including what he calls “de-carceration” – with his intention to NOT prosecute criminals to the full extent of the law – and to NOT have certain violent criminals serve their full sentences and let them back out into our neighborhoods quicker.

Julianne explains the results of Gascon’s horrid policies, “No longer are prosecutors in L.A. County allowed to access prison records nor contact crime victims to help them navigate parole hearings. In L.A. County, inmates are being released from State Prison on parole without the L.A. District Attorney’s input. State statistics reveal that without a prosecutor present, inmates receive MORE grants and LESS denials of parole. Gascon must go!”
