Beverly Hills Police Officers Association Endorses Nathan Hochman for Los Angeles County District Attorney

Beverly Hills Police Officers Cite Hochman’s ExperienceIndependence in Supporting His Bid to Unseat George Gascon

LOS ANGELES / Oct. 7, 2024 — The Beverly Hills Police Officers Association endorsed Nathan Hochman, a former federal prosecutor who has won widespread bipartisan support, in the Nov. 5 election for Los Angeles County District Attorney.

Hochman maintains a strong lead in the race to oust George Gascon as L.A. County’s top law enforcement officer and has won the overwhelming support of first responders, who have witnessed first-hand how Gascon’s failed policies jeopardize the safety and well-being of all residents.

In its endorsement, the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association cited Hochman’s extensive courtroom experience prosecuting violent criminals and his ability to build bipartisan support for his independent campaign to restore public safety by fairly enforcing the law in Los Angeles County.

“We need change. Gascon’s failed policies have emboldened violent street gangs and other criminals, making Beverly Hills and surrounding communities less safe for our residents and visitors alike. We support Nathan Hochman for District Attorney because he has a plan to work together with police and other community leaders to reduce the residential burglaries, robberies and other crimes that have plagued our city,” said Christian Bond, president of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association.

Hochman said: “I welcome the support of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association and look forward to working with their members to make our county safer for all residents by holding criminals accountable. We must end Gascon’s extreme pro-criminal policies that have resulted in more home burglaries, retail thefts and other crimes during his four failed years in office. As a life-long Angeleno, I want to rebuild trust with our community as we work together to address urgent issues, such as homelessness and reducing fentanyl deaths.”

Voters overwhelmingly support Hochman for District Attorney, a poll commissioned by the Los Angeles Times confirms. The poll verifies Hochman’s massive lead in the race, finding that he has a 25% lead over Gascon among decided voters.

In addition to the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association, the POAs representing these cities have endorsed Hochman: Azusa, Baldwin Park, Burbank Claremont, Covina, El Monte, Glendale, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Pasadena, Pomona, San Francisco, Santa Monica, South Gate, West Covina and Whittier. Hochman also is supported by Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs Association and the Association of Deputy District Attorneys.
